"Your computer does not have enough space for temporary files
Windows installation needs at least 436 megabytes (MB) of free space on any partition for temporary files. Free some space on any partition.
[Error: 0x80070103]"
Thing is I have 17.5 gigabytes free on my drive.
Any suggestions?

Yeah I'm getting the same problem. Bit of DUD for Microsoft if their set up program doesn't work. They should have fixed this sort of problem before they released the Beta. It's no wonder more people are migrating to Linux if Microsoft can't even get the basics right! Any of you bright sparks at Microsoft got any ideas?

Yeah I've encountered the same problem upgrading from XP. It's a shame Microsoft couldn't sort out this sort of problem before they released the code, because I for one can't evaluate the 'experience' if I can't get the installation to work! It doesn't bode well for the rest of the operating system if the installation software doesn't work, does it!
It's no wonder Linux is taking over. At least you can install the system!
Any of you bright sparks at Microsoft go any idea? About anything?
By the way, the first time I tried to post this question, there was a 'server error'.

I have similar problem error code 80070103. It has downloaded the sound driver software, however when it tries to install, it keeps failing with this error code. No idea!

As an aside, the error doesn't appear if I boot from the dvd, but then I don't have the option to upgrade which is what I want to do.
